Like petals, the leaves adorn color; but not just for beauty, they are born. 
They serve a higher cause than grace; 
to guard the flowers in their place.

The contrast of the colors, to the core devoid of hue. 
The cluster of the blossoms, and the single spore to ascomplish its due.

Beholding a secret power, the cycle of rebirth.
In dying, they revive.

From the vivid foliage to the bright sky;
and then,
from the darkenss within the soil's womb; 
these leaves again bloom.

Bougainvillea flowers are not actually flowres, they are leaves. Leaves that bloom brighlly. These leaves that seem like flowers are called bracts. The true flowers are tiny and white, as contrast to the vivid colours of the ornamental leaves. They are nestled in the center of these bracts and at times peek out of their homes to make their presence felt.
